New Internet Site Will Cover Overseas Conflict

(SALEM) - A national news Website launched by Salem-News.com this week will cover the missing pieces of the nation's involvement in military conflicts overseas.

Frontline-News.com will examine all of the latest developments and stories from Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas where soldiers are stationed, as well as other relevant national politics.

Salem-News.com's Tim King recently returned from the war in Afghanistan where he reported for this organization and Oregon's KPTV FOX-12.

He says the amount of information going unreported is mind boggling, "I can't believe that so many important stories are downright ignored by the national media and press. It is time that this void is addressed and Frontline-News.com will do just that."

He says the staff at Salem-News.com can only justify so many stories from the war. Reports that center around Oregon troops are published, but he says that means most stories from the war are not.

"It is much like when we started Salem-News.com. We can clearly see that the Web is the place to update people, we know huge numbers of people are cruising the Web for these stories, but reporters are dropping the ball. Before we existed, Salem sorely lacked sufficient coverage. We are going to change and improve the flow of information from the wars overseas just as we did in Oregon's capitol city."

King says we are in a new age when people turn increasingly to the Web for news coverage. Add to that the scaled back approach TV network news has taken to war, "People all over the world are interested in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have family there. We will do more than cover the death count and while it is about war and that is very negative, there are more positive and heroic stories that are never seeing the light of day. We will bring complete coverage without any bias."

That he says, includes updates on the peace movement as well. "As far as I know, there are few if any news agencies that have what it takes to look at this from an outside perspective. They seem to be left or right leaning in almost every case. We will report on every subject that addresses the war, be it for or against."

Frontline-News.com was created by the designer of Salem-News.com, Matt Lintz. The staff includes veteran journalists Kevin Hays, Chris Rizo and Tim King. Hays is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and King is a former U.S. Marine. The General Manager of Frontline-News.com is Bonnie King.

Visit the new site, Frontline-News.com for all the latest information from Washington D.C. and overseas.

Fox is not a real News Network. It is a 24 hour propaganda tool for the GOP. See OUTFOXED: Ruppert Murdochs War On Journalism. Dated 2004, it will help you see how the 24/7 propaganda mill really works. You will also learn that media has no legal obligation to tell the truth.....See Jane Akre and Steve Wilson vs. Fox. Only on the internet. The documentary is readily available.

Good job to the Salem-News gang, at least we know we'll get the "real" news about these wars etc from you guys. I'm proud of you for stepping up and filling a need that the families especially so desperately need. Good deed, well done.

Those with family and friends fighting overseas thank you. There are not enough words to express the frustration of the limited exposure our citizens have of what is really going on over there. I hope you hold this task with the highest regard. I hope you know that you have the duty of speaking for the soldiers who cannot speak for themselves. Let's hope you can keep it real. Let's hope it won't be just a bunch of fluff, but real stories about the soldiers. IT MUST BE ABOUT THE SOLDIERS. Our government seems to have forgotten that very important point. Much to our country's shame! Kudos to you for filling the void. We'll be reading to see how you do!

Nice to see someone paying attention. Everyone knows we don't get all the news that's out there regarding these conflicts. Thank you for bringing it to the forefront!
