Salem-News.com (May 16, 2008 23:34)Police Arrest Two in Dundee ShootingSalem-News.comThe charges on Litscher, Homestead and Waggoner will be reviewed by a Yamhill County Grand Jury within a week. (DUNDEE, Ore.) - Police made an arrest in the April 30th shooting that took place in Dundee. Around 11:30 PM Thursday, 34-year old Willard Wayne Waggoner was arrested by the US Marshals Service Oregon Fugitive Task Force with vital assistance from Salem Police Department and Albany Police Department. The arrest was made at a residence in Albany.
Waggoner is one suspect charged in connection with last month's shooting in Dundee. The late evening event caused traffic on Highway 99W to be closed down traffic on Hwy 99W while members of the Yamhill County Major Crime Response Team investigated the crime.

Police say a 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by 21-year old Justin Lejeune of Turner, was westbound on Highway 6 slowing to turn left into a gas station when it turned in front of an eastbound 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 61-year old James Perry Law of Happy Valley.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Police have identified 23-year old Justin L. White of Molalla as the victim of an apparent hit & run crash on Highway 211 about south of Colton.
Oregon State Police, working in conjunction with the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, believe the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Friday and the victim's body was found later that afternoon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - You have no idea what races through my mind each time I hear a siren wailing in the background, rushing to some traumatic incident and a person desperate for their assistance. I think of the myriad fatal crashes I have covered in my twenty years as a news reporter and photographer, and all the tragedy and grief that accompanies them.
Fortunately, I do not have to go to these incidents anymore; not very often anyway. Instead, police in Oregon have become extremely helpful to the news media by sharing photos of the crash scenes that they already take for their investigations.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon State Medical Examiner Dr. Karen Gunson has released drug-related death statistics for 2007 reflecting a continuing rise since 1999 and the third highest number of these deaths since 1997.
The statistics showed a sharp increase in Heroin-related deaths while Methamphetamine and Cocaine-related deaths dropped in comparison to last year's figures. "The jump in Heroin-related deaths is very alarming and the highest in that category for the last seven years," said Dr. Gunson.

(JUNCTION CITY, Ore.) - Highway 99E was closed at about 11:30 AM according to Oregon Department of Transportation officials, when a truck hauling hay started burning.
Fire crews on scene elected to allow the truck and its contents to burn due to safety concerns. Once the fire is extinguished, a tow truck will remove the remains of the truck and trailer. A detour routing traffic around the scene is in place.
