Volcanoes Baseball And Public Safety Coordinating Council to Recognize Community Meth SuccessesSalem-News.comThe event is geared towards families, with free T-shirts for children and interactive displays to educate and entertain attendees.
(SALEM) - Partnering with Volcanoes Baseball, the Marion County Public Safety Coordinating Council is organizing the first annual "Striking Out Meth In Marion County" event to be held on July 14th at 6:00 PM at the Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer. "Striking Out Meth In Marion County" is an event to celebrate the successes across the county that have been achieved in the fight against the methamphetamine epidemic and to recognize efforts by local businesses, community non-profit organizations and local government. "We are so grateful to Volcanoes Baseball and Western Oregon Properties Inc., our premier sponsor, for making this night available to have a family-oriented event celebrating our success against meth," said Marion County Commissioner Patti Milne, who also chairs the Public Safety Coordinating Council. "There has been so much tragedy associated with meth, we need to remember to recognize all those people in our community who are working hard every day to keep this poison off the streets, out of the schools and stopping kids from ever using in the first place. This is a great opportunity for families to come enjoy a great baseball game while learning more about meth and the people fighting against it." Sponsorships are being offered to local businesses and individuals to help cover the costs of printing and T-shirts and to purchase tickets for foster children to attend the event and baseball game. For more details, please call Patti Milne at 503-588-5212 for information about the event or sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorship packages can also be found on the Marion County Web site at www.co.marion.or.us. Salem-News Sports: Sports
