Does honesty have a value?
When Bonnie and Tim King started Salem-News.com in the summer of 2004, they were full time employees from the mainstream world of media. They traded that lifestyle of great pay and benefits, to essentially redefine the way news is done in America, through Salem-News.com, and in countless ways they have seen tremendous success.
Salem-News.com has been ahead of the ball for almost six years, taking Web news very seriously, long before other groups started to focus on the real potential of the Internet.
Because we write honest news and are not swayed by pressure from groups that control most national media, like pharmaceutical companies, we are constantly overextended financially. For years we were rejected by many advertisers over our (legal) medical marijuana coverage, that is certainly changing in our favor. Others refuse to support us because we tell the truth about U.S. and Israeli military policy, and the numerous failures of our government in recent years. This is to be expected when the truth isn't comfortable, that's the reality of news.
If you believe in what we do, then please support us by making a PayPal donation. We have major ranking on Google and so many things in our favor, but revenue has always been very limited. We know that if we keep going, a wise investor is going to eventually come along and give this business what it needs. In the meanwhile, expenses are very difficult to keep up with, and as our daily unique visitor count soars to over 16k or more every day now, we are struggling harder than ever to keep up. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
