The Recall will not use paid signature gathers and has limited donations to $1000 from residents of Oregon and southwest Washington.
(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The political action committee 'Community to Recall Sam Adams' has over 500 volunteers signed up to help recall Portland mayor Sam Adams for willfully lying to get elected, orchestrating an elaborate cover-up and abusing his power.
The Recall can file to start collecting their goal of 50,000 signatures in a 90 day window from registered Portland voters on July 1st. The campaign's goals are to have 2000 volunteers and $20,000 in donations. Currently the campaign has received $1225.99 in donations.
When asked about the current volunteer and donation levels volunteer spokesperson Jasun Wurster responded, "We feel that some people are waiting to see what the Oregon Attorney General's report finds. There is no guarantee that the AG's report will be issued anytime soon. More importantly, there is no guarantee that Sam Adams will voluntarily resign based on it's findings."
Wurster continued, "The campaign will not wait for the AG's report. We need more volunteers and donations to start collecting signatures to recall Sam Adams the beginning of July."
The Recall will not use paid signature gathers and has limited donations to $1000 from residents of Oregon and southwest Washington.
In order for the Recall to start collecting signatures the campaign is currently organizing volunteers, creating door-hangers, requesting access to voter lists, and producing training videos that will be on YouTube.
"This is a positive, non-partisan and intelligent campaign that is comprised of very talented volunteers who are solely focused on holding Sam Adams accountable for his civic transgressions", commented Wurster when asked about volunteer's political and social views who are contributing to the recall.
RecallSamAdams.com's press release indicates that it is a 100% volunteer grassroots organization dedicated to recalling Portland Mayor Sam Adams based on his civic transgressions.
