(Salem) - I really should have done a strip about the health care debate -- if you can call shouting down speakers at health care meetings a debate.
It reminds me of the people who complain about their doctors or lawyers or whichever occupation at the moment seems fair game for complaint. One moment they stomp their feet and act indignant.
However, the moment one of these complainers gets cancer or needs a heart transplant, they sing this song: "Oh, Doctor Save Me!" or "Lawyer, Protect my Rights!" or "Plumber, Unstop My Drain!" Their critique is quickly forgotten while the doctor or lawyer or plumber goes about his or her job.
These wing-nuts who want to deny others of health-care might one day find they don't have health care either and may pick up a different songbook.
It's a Republican-Right Wing snow job proving that Lincoln was wrong. You can fool most (if not all) the people most of the time.
The Republicans really know how to bring out the worst in America. I cringe every time I hear someone say, "I don't see why I should have to pay for someone's health care when they didn't earn it."
That's hardly a Christian attitude now is it? The guys who walk around with WWJD lanyards need to stop thinking about Christ as their Home Boy but as spiritual master whose example they should follow.
Well, this comic isn't even about health care and only marginally about would-be Christians. It's about men who think they're God's gift to women. Take a deep breath--it's not about Republicans either. Mainly, anyway.
