There are no limitations in sight for us, and Salem-News.com's popularity and growth is a daily factor. It is a new time and people who can share this bright vision need to reach out.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com is in need of financial assistance. We have huge numbers of visitors and a five out of ten ranking on Google. That is the same level as Portland's television stations. This has taken five years of hard work to achieve. We did this for Salem, Oregon which is a place that often feels overlooked in terms of media coverage.
We changed that, and we want to continue to provide news for residents of this state. We need a partner to join us and turn this into a profitable business. We are on the verge of launching a new section that is a guaranteed moneymaker. It is time for us to figure out where this is going.
I knew five years ago that the Internet was the new venue for news. At that point I didn't realize that we could not go live to a massive audience - due to the inability of the Web and technology available in 2004. As a lifelong TV news photojournalist, I was gravely disappointed. Instead of concentrating on live news, we directed our energy toward published stories.
We have spent five years ahead of the curve, and now technology has caught up with us. We can now go live to a huge audience and we just completed our beta phase of live newscasts at 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, we are on the verge of launching a new subsection that will address the nightlife of Oregon that we have until now, only covered on a limited basis. This means music, shows, attractions, you name it. This aspect will diversify the site for those who aren't political junkies, as is the case with most of our staff.
This site could easily function in any locality, but we thought Salem was the right place when we started it. Salem incidentally, translates to "peace".
We need a partner, we aren't looking for an extraordinary amount of investment. We have pounded this for five years, we have published over 12,000
