(HILLSBORO) - The 2006 Oregon International Airshow is set for this Saturday and Sunday at the Hillsboro Airport. All kinds of aircraft and airplane-related events are scheduled, and organizers say the increasing popularity of the event couls make it the biggest in history.
It is a place where old technology and the boldest and newest ideas take to the skies. Planes that have been flying for well over half a century will stunt and soar while cutting edge designs from the experimental eircraft category demonstrate the latest capabilities.

A-10 West Coast Demo Team with Heritage Flight - The A-10 Demo – one of six fighter demonstration teams - will highlight the superior performance of the aircraft with combinations of high and low speed maneuvers, rapid rolls and maximum climbs.
T-6A II West Coast Demo Team - The T-6A Texan II Aerial Demo Team’s performance reflects the skills of America’s top aviators and the capabilities of the command’s newest and most advanced primary trainer ever flown by the U.S. Air Force.
Air Force Reserve Smoke-n-Thunder Jet Car - Out on the taxiway you can hear the deafening roar of an engine and see a billowing cloud of smoke. You will feel the reverberations of mini sonic booms as the Jet Car, pulling 4.5G’s at takeoff accelerates to 11G’s before coming to a stop at the end of the runway. This is a performance you don’t want to miss!
F18 Super Hornet TAC Demonstration Team - This team flies a two-seat F/A-18F as close to the the "edge of the envelope" as safety and prudence allows. The routine highlights the Rhino's maneuverability and slow-speed handling characteristics and is sure to thrill.
U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Jump Team - Performing multiple free-fall parachute jumps over the airfield, descending to a perfect bulls-eye landing! Don’t miss this very popular performance – both day and night!
The UNTIED Team – Mohr Barnstorming, OTTO the Helicopter and stuntman Todd Green make up the Untied Team.
Mohr Barnstorming – With over 25,000 hours of flying experience - that’s 2 years in the air - John Mohr is one of the most talented and exciting Airshow pilots today! Performing extremely difficult maneuvers in his meticulously restored 1943 stock Stearman bi-plane, he is sure to please!
OTTO The Airshow Helicopter– Billed as the “Mickey Mouse of the Airshow Circuit” this performing helicopter brings a fun and thrilling act for kids and adults alike. Whether he’s playing with his 75lb yo-yo or catching a thief, this is an act you don’t want to miss!
