Reward Offered in Homicide Case

(SALEM) - A private citizen has established a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of 20-year old June "Candy " Kell, whose body was discovered burning by a Salem Patrol Officer at 1:00 AM, Tuesday, August 29th, 2006. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Kell's body was found underneath the bridge located in the 500 block of 13th St. SE in Salem. The State Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and is waiting on the result of various lab tests.

Detectives have conducted a number of interviews with people who knew, saw or were with Kell during the days leading up to the discovery of her body.

Kell had been in the Salem area for approximately seven months and was known by a large number of citizens, many who frequented the downtown and Bus Transit Mall areas.

The $500 reward account has been set up under the name of June "Candy" Kell through U.S. Bank. This account is a "donation account" which allows for others to donate to the reward amount through any U.S. Bank branch.
