Paramedics activated LifeFlight, and the boy was flown to Legacy Emanuel Hospital's trauma unit.

Indian LarryWitnesses told Canby Firefighters that the boy was standing on his pegs and letting go of the handle bars while riding down a steep downhill grade, similar to famed chopper rider Indian Larry.

"Apparently the handlebars rotated, which caused the boy to be thrown literally over the handle bars," said Canby

Firefighter and Paramedic Matt Dale. "Most of the injuries were to the head and face," noted Dale "And he was not wearing a helmet!"

Neighbors who witnessed the crash called 911, and the boy's uncle was also notified; he arrived shortly after the crash.
