Police do not know what compelled the guard to initiate a false report.

(SALEM) - Salem Police responded in force to Kettle Foods in Salem on a report of two men menacing a security guard with a gun and threatening his life.

The 1:50 AM report and call for help from security guard Raymond Scott White, 22, brought response from 11 Salem units and two county sheriff deputies.

Salem Police say a perimeter was immediately set up and K-9's were brought in to search for the two subjects with a gun that White had reported.

But those alleged suspects never turned up and police say that after an extensive interview, White told them he had made the story up. He was arrested for Initiating a False Report and Reckless Endangering.

White was an employee of Pro Star Security. Salem Police say it is unfortunate adn they do not know why the report was made up in the first place. Salem Police say the arrest is no reflection on Kettle Foods, and they say that the implementation of a security guard in the first place shows that the company is looking our for the welfare of it's empleyees.
