The food baskets will be assembled and delivered to needy families on the morning of Saturday, December 16th.
(JEFFERSON) - The Jefferson Volunteer Firefighters will once again be preparing and delivering food baskets to those in need living within our Jefferson and Millersburg communities.
Without community support, this program will not be able to fulfill the needs of the community.
Canned food donations as well as financial contributions are needed.
The funding that is received is used to purchase additional food and supplies for a full Christmas dinner.
Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Rick's Market, Jefferson Grocery, Santiam Market, Sterling Bank and the Jefferson Fire Department.
Monetary donations can be dropped off at the Jefferson Fire District or mailed to P.O. Box 911, Jefferson, OR 97352.
Last year approximately 80 baskets were prepared for delivery which included canned food, ham or turkey, and fresh vegetables.
This program is designed for those who will not have food for a Christmas dinner this year.
Those in need can apply for a food basket at the Jefferson Fire Department, 189 N. Main St., in Jefferson.
The Jefferson Food Bank is also sponsoring giving trees.
Gift tags can be picked up at two locations in Jefferson; Rick's Market and the Plantation Inn.
