(ALBANY) - The Linn County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the discovery of human remains on October 23rd of this year by a hunter in the Big Spring Snow Park area of east Linn County.
Linn County Detectives have been working with the State Medical Examiner's Office and the State Museum of Anthropology at the University of Oregon in Eugene attempting to determine the identity of the homicide victim in this case.
Personnel at the University of Oregon were able to examine and reconstruct the remains to include the skull and facial structure of the victim. Linn County Detectives worked with Joyce Nagy, a certified Forensic Sketch Artist with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to create an artists rendering of what the deceased person may have looked like. Detectives also located several articles of clothing at the scene which may help identify the person. Photographs of similar clothing are available.
Description of victim:
Adult male 25-45 years of age, ethnic ancestry probable Caucasian
Robust build, 5'8" to 6'1" tall
Unknown hair color, unknown eye color, unknown scars, marks or tattoos
Poor dental health, with minimal to no dental work performed on teeth
Clothing recovered in the area:
Grey "Sideout" brand t-shirt with Sideout logo screen print on t- shirt
Black "Dungarees" brand denim pants
Blue with black trim nylon type athletic pants
"K-Air" brand white leather type tennis shoes, approximately size 11-12 men's shoes.
