Death of California Man Found at Baldock Rest Area Near Wilsonville Deemed Suspicious

Investigation to this point indicates Mr. Hunt was visiting the area but no further information is being released.

(WILSONVILLE) - The Oregon State Medical Examiner has positively identified the body found January 26th in a thick brushy area about 100 yards south of the rear paved parking lot at Baldock Rest Area south of Wilsonville.

Identification was made using dental records. Photographs have now been released to assist with developing information related to this suspicious death investigation.

State Police say the body was positively identified as 56-year old Thomas Jean Hunt of Merced, California.

The manner and cause of death is not being released. Oregon State Police detectives investigating say they are still considering this to be a suspicious death.

On January 26th at approximately 11:20 AM, an ODOT employee conducting maintenance duties in the area of the rear parking lot at the southbound Interstate 5 Baldock Rest Area discovered the decomposed body.

Investigation to this point indicates Mr. Hunt was visiting the area but no further information is being released.
