Given the fact that both suicides occurred within in such short time period, the Sheriff's Office says they will conduct an in-depth review of the jail policy and procedures.
(VANCOUVER, Wa.) - Within a four day period the Clark County Jail has had two inmates commit suicide while in custody at the main jail, located at 707 W. 13th Street. Both suicides appear to be from hanging.
The first incident occurred March 2nd at approximately 9:30 AM. The inmate in this incident was identified as 49-year old John Robert Burgoon of Portland, Oregon.
The second incident occurred today at approximately 3:15 PM. The inmate in this incident was identified as 22-year old Jesse D Miller of Vancouver, Washington.
John Burgoon was scheduled to be transported to a state prison.
Jesse Miller was awaiting trial.
