Police Recovering Body From Molalla River

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the reported discovery of a human body submerged in the Molalla River; between S Adams Cemetery Road and S Dickey Prairie Road, in Molalla.

At 6:30 PM Thursday evening, a local resident in the area reported to Sheriff's witnessing what appeared to be a mannequin or human body submerged in the Molalla River.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel responded to the scene – in the general vicinity of 34415 S Molalla Forrest Road, in the Molalla River.

Personnel determined the discovered remains as human, and secured the site for a recovery of the deceased early Friday morning.

Friday morning daylight scheduling for this type of activity was determined to be the safest time for Sheriff's Office Marine personnel to attempt this type of recovery from the 43 degree, swift moving body of water.

Investigators on the scene report this find as a single human body, with no gender declared.

Also, this discovery does not appear to be associated with any automobile in the immediate vicinity of the recovery location.

When the body is recovered from the river this morning; the Clackamas County Medical Examiner, will transport the corpse to the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office, for the anticipated forensic autopsy to be performed.
