Clackamas Sheriff Identifies Deceased Female Found in Molalla River

(OREGON CITY) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has received confirmation, in cooperation with the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office, that the deceased body recovered from the Molalla River earlier this morning is positively identified as 55-year old Donna Laverne Schmidt.

Donna Schmidt was formally reported as a missing person on March 22nd by her husband, Mark Irvin Schmidt, to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

They both lived at 36111 S Dickey Prairie Road, in Molalla.

Donna Schmidt had previously been indicted and lodged in the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Jail, September 5th, 2006 for charges documented as Identity theft and tampering with drug records. As a result of these two conviction she had been formally placed on probation with Clackamas County Community Corrections.

A Clackamas County spokesman says that in these types of forensic examinations; toxicology and related laboratory examination results may not become available to investigators for several weeks.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has accomplished all of the necessary and considerate family notifications.
