The Gresham Police Department was notified immediately and both Springwater Trail High School and Hogan Cedars Elementary School were immediately placed into lockdown.
(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Ten students were cut by flying glass this afternoon at Springwater Trail High School in Gresham when a rifle shot went through a classroom window of the top floor of the school.
The Gresham-Barlow School District has learned 10 Springwater Trail students in total were hurt by broken window glass. Two of those students were taken to a local hospital where they were treated. The remaining eight students were treated at the school.
The Gresham Police Department was notified immediately and both Springwater Trail High School and Hogan Cedars Elementary School were immediately placed into lockdown.
A lockdown is defined as a situation where students are kept within their classrooms or in the interior of the building until the emergency no longer exists. School operates as usual with the exception of recesses being held indoors.
The Gresham Police Department is conducting an investigation of this incident.
