(KEIZER) - Several local police agencies working together as the Marion County Methamphetamine Strike Force, served search warrants were served at eight locations in Marion and Polk Counties Friday
Lt. Doug Garrett with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the operation marked the culmination of a three-month investigation by the newly formed Meth Strike Force, which was developed for the purpose of identifying, investigating, arresting and ultimately prosecuting organized crime families that are responsible for supplying methamphetamine to dealers within Marion County.
Garrett says 12 Law enforcement agencies, 10 narcotic teams, three tactical/SWAT units and 6 support agencies representing Marion County, the cities of Salem, Keizer, Woodburn, Stayton and Silverton, the Oregon State Police, Polk County, Lincoln County and Linn County were key sources for the successful operation.
These organizations were the Department of Human Resources, members of the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, Marion County Sheriff’s Office Parole and Probation deputies and Reserve deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Angel P.D. and the Stayton Police Department.
Garrett says the search warrants led to the arrests of seven people, the seizure of three vehicles, including a 2002 BMW, a 2000 Lincoln LS and a 2004 Honda Accord. They also seized $37,022.00 in cash, 1 ½ pounds of Methamphetamine, 3 ounces of Cocaine, seven children taken into protective custody by DHS and a 9mm handgun.

The Marion County Methamphetamine Strike Force (MSF) is made up of narcotics investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Salem Police Department, the Keizer Police Department and the Woodburn Police Department. A Marion County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant operationally supervises the Strike Force. A Marion County Deputy District Attorney is assigned to the Team and insures that cases investigated by the Meth Strike Force are prepared in such a manner that a successful prosecution is insured.
