The driver, 55-year-old Stephen M. Janes from Keizer suffered burns to over 80 percent of his body.
(SALEM, Ore. ) - On Saturday just after noon, Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to 7105 Hazelgreen Rd. NE. for a report of a single vehicle crash that had caught fire.
Marion County firefighters responded to the location and extinguished the flames while the lone occupant/driver remained in the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was extricated and taken by LifeFlight to the burn center at Emanual Hospital in Portland.
The vehicle was a 1992 Suzuki UT and the driver was 55-year-old Stephen M. Janes from Keizer.
The vehicle apparently left the roadway on a winding turn and entered the ditch.
The vehicle continued in the ditch until it struck a power pole.
Salem-News.com learned Sunday that Stephen M. Janes died from his injuries.
