Police Arrest Father After Leaving Infant Sons Abandoned in Vehicle

The location of the mother is still unknown.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Just after 1:00 AM this morning, the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4900 block of Mink Ct. NE in Salem, Oregon regarding two small children that were found sleeping in a vehicle with no adult supervision by a neighbor.

The boys are approximately two and three years of age, unknown names, but the older child is about three feet tall, 30-35 lbs, and it appears he has recently received staples for a cut to his head.

The second boy is approximately 2'5" tall, 20-25 lbs, both have brown hair.

One was wearing a black striped "Baseball Jersey" with the word ROOKIE written on the front, tan shorts and white shoes.

The vehicle is a Purple 1996 Hyundai Accent two door, bearing Oregon License plate #YVD-804.

The children were taken into protective custody.

Deputies been unable to locate or identify the parents, or the children.

The father was last seen at 8:00 PM last night with the children.

Just before 8:00 AM this morning deputies were called to 4295 Trapper Dr NE by Sean Hammack, the homeowner, who reported that he and his wife had found a man sleeping in thier SUV parked inside the garage of their home.

The man was identified as 33-year-old Blaine Danley, of Salem.

Danley confirmed he is the father of the two children found abandonded in a car just a block away early this morning.

Danley is in custody and is chareged with Burglary and criminal charges connected the the abandonment of the children will be forthcoming.
