Preliminary estimates place the loss to the structure at approximately $50,000 and approximately $5,000 to contents.
(KEIZER, Ore. ) - A grease fire Thursday has temporarily closed JC's Pizzaria in Keizer.
The fire started as a result of the fryer overheating and igniting the oil.
An employee was nearby and discovered the fire immediately activating the hood suppression system. This partially extinguished the fire until fire crews arrived two minutes later.
First crews made entrance into the kitchen and completed knock down of the fire that had involved the fryer and the ventilation hood directly over the fryer.
Quick action by the employee that activated the hood suppression system and called 9-1-1, helped minimize the spread of fire into the entire kitchen area.
No injuries were reported.
Preliminary estimates place the loss to the structure at approximately $50,000 and approximately $5,000 to contents.
