Man Shot by Salem Police Officer After Car Chase Identified

Salem police are seeking two other men involved in the stolen-car chase.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Marion County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday identified the man shot and killed by a Salem police officer Monday after a struggle following a pursuit.

The man was identified as 19-year-old Cesar Alejandro Gonzalez-Meza from Stayton who was wanted on drug charges and a probation violation.

Salem police are seeking two other men involved in the stolen-car chase.

One man is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slender build and a crew cut. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and no shoes.

The other man is described as Hispanic, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender build, black hair and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red shirt.

Oregon State Police are investigating the shooting with help from detectives from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Keizer and Woodburn police departments.
