Police say the meth found hidden in the vehicle is worth an estimated $4,000.
(THE DALLES, Oregon) - Police say two men were arrested Tuesday night after they were determined to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. It happened during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 about seven miles east of The Dalles.
Sergeant Patrick Shortt with Oregon State Police says that at approximately 9:35 PM, an Oregon State Police Trooper from The Dalles Area Command stopped a 1991 Honda Accord on Interstate 84 near milepost 94 for an equipment violation.
He says the occupants were identified as operator, 46-year old Samuel Rodriguez of Series, California, and passenger 21-year old Ruban Cuevas of Pasco, Washington.
"During the stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and found approximately one-quarter pound of 'crystal' methamphetamine worth an estimated $4,000 hidden in the vehicle."
Shortt says Rodriguez and Cuevas were both arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. They were lodged at the jail facility in The Dalles.
