Cartoon Strip: Nota Bene by Leonardo No. 62 - Sticks and Stones

Glen Bledsoe Salem-News.com

This is the sixty-second installment of the Salem-News.com original series "Nota Bene by Leonardo" by Salem cartoonist Glen Bledsoe.

(Earth-GWB) - The analogue of Earth Prime's General David Howell Patraeus, commander of the Multi-National Force in Iraq, is Earth-GWB's General Davis Howl Betrayus.

Regular readers of Nota Bene will recognize that's just the way parallel earths work. A changed consonant here, a vowel there -- it's the nature of infinite variation.

As on our world, however, the General was called a bad name by an organization also with an alternate designation. MoveOn.org on Earth-GWB is MakeOver.org -- not to be confused with any organization of the cosmetic industry.

MakeOver.org like MoveOn.org is furious at the failure of their politicians to halt a purposeless and protracted war. However, their satire was so over the top that even otherwise friendly politicians like Oregone's Diane Hooligan joined the House of Representatives to condemn the act.

If you believe that MoveOn.org's twisting of General Patraeus's name was bad ("General Betray Us, General Betray Us, General Betray Us, Nyah! Nyah!") wait until you hear the name-calling which took place on our sister world.

We should take refuge in the gentle satire as presented by the folks at MoveOn.org.Frame 1 | Frame 2 | Frame 3 | Frame 4
