(CANBY, Ore.) - Oregon's Highway 99E was hit by mud and rock landslide today near Canby, and firefighters and rescue personnel say a passengers in a vehicle passing through at the moment it happened are luck to not be hurt.
The embankment along 99E slid into a northbound travel lane at 8:59 AM, littering the highway with rock and debris the slide hit a mini van that was traveling northbound along highway 99E, Canby Fire Division Chief Buzalsky said.
"The occupants of the van are lucky they very narrowly missed severe injury when the debris hit the hood of there mini van if they would have been there a second before we could have had much different results."
