Fire Evacuation Warning Issued for California Neighborhoods

Evacuation WARNING has been issued due to the Harris Fire.

(SAN DIEGO) - Residents near the Harris Fire have been advised that they could be evacuated from their Southern California neighborhoods if fire conditions worsen.

An evacuation warning is the alerting of community members in a defined area of a potential threat to life and property from an emergency incident. Due to fire activity on the Harris Fire, incident commanders are issuing an evacuation Warning for the following areas:

Evacuation Warnings for the Carve Acres Region:North of Wilson CreekSouth of Pearson CanyonEast of Kearchoffer FlatWest of Horsethief Canyon. Evacuation Route for Carve Acres Region – Japatul Valley Road to Interstate 8.

Evacuation Warnings for the Lake Marena Village Region:South of Interstate 8North of Hauser CanyonEast of Lake MarinaWest of Buckman Springs. Evacuation Route for Lake Marena Region – Buckman Springs Road to Interstate 8.

Evacuation Warnings for the Lawson Valley Region:South of Loveland ReservoirNorth of the Community of Lyon’s ValleyEast of Beaver HollowWest of Kearchoffer Flats. Evacuation Route for Lawson Valley Region – Lawson Valley Road to Lyon’s Valley Road to Highway 94 West.

Evacuation Warnings for the Japitul Valley Region:North of Japatul RoadSouth of Bell BluffEast of Middle MountainWest of Horsethief Canyon. Evacuation Route for Japatul Valley Region – Japatul Valley Road to Interstate 8.

Evacuation Warnings for the Campo Region:South of Phelps RoadNorth of International BorderEast of Forest GlenWest of La Posta Road. Evacuation Route for Campo Region – Highway 94 to Church Road to Interstate 8.

If an evacuation “order” is issued, residents will be notified by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department using the reverse 911 system. All residents should check into the evacuation center and leave contact numbers if not staying at the shelter.

Two Animal/Pet shelter locations are in the area. For larger animals, go to the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds at Highway 67 and Mapleview Street in Lakeside. Small animals can be taken to the El Cajon Animal Shelter at 1275 North Marshall Avenue in El Cajon. You can call them at 916-441-1580.
