Vancouver Police Make Arrest in Homicide

Orlin Campos-Cerna was booked into the Clark County Jail for First Degree Murder.

(VANCOUVER, Wa.) - Vancouver Police have arrested 27-year old Orlin Campos-Cerna for a deadly shooting that happened October 11th of this year near the intersection of 26th Street/ Fairmount Avenue.

When Vancouver Police arrived at the scene, they say they found a subject seated in the drivers position of a vehicle at the location. The subject was later identified as Jose S. Avila. He had been shot once in the head.

Mr. Avila was transported to Emanuel Hospital in Portland where he later died from the gunshot would he sustained.

The investigation was assigned to Detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit.

Then yesterday, investigators interviewed Orlin Campos-Cerna regarding his knowledge of the incident.

At the conclusion of the interview, Campos-Cerna was booked into the Clark County Jail for First Degree Murder. The investigation is continuing - there is no additional information at this time.Source: Vancouver Police
