Two Major Earthquakes Rock Chile Saturday

Chilean and Peruvian media are not reporting any damages or injuries at this time.

(ANTOFAGASTA, Chile) - A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck northern Chile at 2:54 PM Saturday, the latest in a series of aftershocks to hit the country since a powerful quake on Wednesday.

The USGS says the epicenter was 41 miles north-northwest of Antofagasta, Chile, near the coast and Chile's border with Peru. Chilean and Peruvian media are not reporting any damages or injuries at this time.

A 4.6 quake followed at 4:25 PM in the same location.

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake near Antofagasta on Wednesday collapsed homes and buildings, killing two, injuring 115, and left over 15,00 people homeless.

On Thursday, two aftershocks with magnitudes of 6.2 and 6.8 hit northern Chile.
