To make this new aspect of our site even more useful, we have included tips on winter driving conditions and all of our current news department traffic reports.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregonians now have a new service from Salem-News.com and the Oregon Department of Transportation that will help on days when the driving conditions are treacherous. The link is located on the left side of the front page, here is a shortcut for now: salem-news.com/roadconditions.php

At the top of the page is a drop down menu that allows a visitor to select the highway or region where they will be driving. The reports contain current temperatures, current conditions, snow depth, snow off toad, driving restrictions and pavement conditions. This is "live traffic" that updates constantly thanks to ODOT.

To make this new aspect of our site even more useful, we have included tips on winter driving conditions and all of our current news department traffic reports.

Salem-News.com Web Designer Matt Lintz worked steadily to accelerate the launch of this new service knowing that the winter's most severe storm this year was approaching.

We look forward to input from our visitors that will help us improve this new service. Questions and comments can be left at the bottom of the story or you can email the news staff at: newsroom@salem-news.com
