Albany Police say people who run the light at Queen Avenue and Geary Street will face enforcement.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Albany Police say that since October 2007, a Photo Red Light camera has been capturing red light violations at the intersection of Queen Avenue and Geary Street.

During the months of October and November 2007, 291 warning letters were sent to registered owners of the vehicles that were photographed violating the red light at this intersection.

But the honeymoon ends tonight at midnight. They say the temporary warning period will end at 12:00 AM, December 18.

Beginning at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, December 19th, citations will begin to be mailed out for red light violations.

They say the Photo Red Light camera is activated only when a vehicle enters the intersection after the traffic light has turned red. Four photos and a video are taken of the violation, driver, and license plate of the vehicle.

The violation must first be reviewed by a Police Officer before a decision to issue a citation is made. Citations will be mailed out within 10 days of the violation.

The base fine for running a red light is $302.
