Suspect Arrested Over Police Officer Assault in Pendleton

Police say Hawk used a vehicle to strike Officer Scott Hays during a felony traffic stop during early morning hours of December 14th.

(PENDLETON, Ore.) - A woman sought since December 14th, suspected of using a stolen pickup to assault a Milton-Freewater police officer was arrested Tuesday night in Pendleton.

Around 10:35 PM, officers from Pendleton Police Department, acting on information developed by Umatilla Tribal Police, located and arrested 21-year old Marissa Belle Hawk at a Pendleton-area motel.

Hawk was arrested on a charge of providing False Information to a Police Officer, and on an arrest warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. She was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.

Marissa Hawk is expected to appear in Umatilla County Circuit Court this afternoon at 1:15 PM on the above-listed charges and on additional charges related to last Friday's assault.

Police say Hawk used a vehicle to strike Officer Scott Hays during a felony traffic stop during early morning hours of December 14th. Hays sustained minor injuries and was released from St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla later that day. The investigation is being continued by personnel from the Oregon State Police and the Umatilla County Major Crimes Team.
