(SALEM, Ore.) - Cedar Village Assisted Living opens its doors to its new Memory Care wing and welcomes its first resident. The new wing has 18 large studio and one bedroom apartment homes that feature a kitchenette, walk-in shower, spacious living and ample closets.

“This program has been a long time coming for our community,” states Darlene Pallin, Executive Director. “The Memory Care program will be a great addition to the community for residents who might need additional support as well.”

The cozy home-like atmosphere is designed to promote independence, dignity, privacy and choice. Residents have access to a landscaped courtyard with walking area, private dining room, and activities designed to meet each resident’s needs.

Cedar Village has dedicated care providers who have participated in a specialized training in the latest memory care research and care programs. The programs are designed to provide residents with the services they need to maximize their individual abilities and levels of wellness.

“Caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia requires knowledge, experience, understanding and above all, compassion,” says Pallin. “We are dedicated to providing gentle encouragement and support while helping residents make their own decisions.”
