(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Klamath County Deputies responded around 7:30 PM last night on a report of an overdue person who had been snowmobiling in northern Klamath County.
Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger says preliminary information is that 65-year old Robert Plumb of Crescent, Oregon left his home on a snowmobile before noon Tuesday.
"Klamath County Searchers on snowmobiles searched throughout the night after following snowmobile tracks thought to be Plumbs. The tracks continued for miles south until they met up with a more heavily used trail where the tracks blended with those from other snowmobiles."
Klamath County has requested the assistance of Jackson, Douglas and Deschutes Counties for the day-time operation Wednesday.
A request state-wide has been sent for assistance if the search continues into Wednesday night. Air assets have also been requested to help in covering the literally dozens of snowmobile trails in the area.
The Klamath County Sheriff's Office has set up command at the Crescent Forest Service Office on Highway 97 in Crescent.
