A two-month old boy in a child safety seat was not injured.
(HEBO, Ore.) - A 17-year old Beaver-area girl died and two others were injured Saturday night when she lost control of her car on Highway 101 near Hebo and crashed head-on with a sport utility vehicle.
Oregon State Police say that around 9:00 PM, a 1995 Saturn station wagon driven by 17-year old Elizabeth Bryson of Beaver, was southbound on Highway 101 near milepost 84 coming out of a left curve when it lost control, drove across the centerline and crashed head-on with a 1999 Ford Explorer driven by 25-year old Michael Franklin of Corvallis.
Elizabeth Bryson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Saturn's passenger, 19-year old Hallie Thompson of Beaver, was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with serious injuries.
Franklin was not injured. His passenger, 21-year old Andrea Gomez of Corvallis, was seriously injured and transported to Tillamook General Hospital. A two-month old boy in a child safety seat was not injured.
Safety restraint use information is pending confirmation.
OSP troopers from the Tillamook and Astoria offices are continuing the investigation. Speed is a possible contributing factor.
Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Tillamook Ambulance, ODOT, Nestucca Fire Department chaplain, and local fire personnel assisted. Highway 101 was closed at the crash scene location until 1:36 AM.
