Officials at the jail say they are reviewing all policies and procedures pertaining to the occurrence.
(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Information from the Medical Examiner in Clackamas County reveals suicide as the cause of death of Brian Hebener in the county jail.
Last night, corrections deputies performing routine checks on inmates observed Mr. Hebener in a ligature and immediately began medical care to save his life.
Emergency medical services responded to the jail where medical treatment continued. The valiant efforts of corrections deputies and EMS were unsuccessful. After the passing of Mr. Hebener, the medical examiner was notified and an investigation began, as is normal procedure.
The medical examiner this evening ruled the death a suicide.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are currently finishing investigating this unfortunate event.
