Police say the threat was not a viable one and no explosive devices were found.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police officers arrested an 18-year old McKay High School student today for leaving a note threatening to detonate a bomb in the school.
Lt. Dave Okada with Salem Police says Mark Steven Gray, a student at the school, was arrested for leaving a note in a bathroom on February 6th stating that a bomb was going to go off at McKay High School on February 8th.
The note was found written on a wall of a bathroom and was immediately reported to staff, who notified the school resource officer, according to Okada.
"The school resource officer began an investigation, and after contacting several students, arrested the suspect without further incident at the school on February 7th."
Okada says that at this time, it appears as though the threat was not a viable one and no explosive devices were found.
Gray was arrested for Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree and was transported to the Marion County Corrections Facility.
