One of the world's hottest rock bands got together recently for a concert in London, could it be a sign of more live Zeppelin?
(SALEM, Ore.) - Since the word first got out about Led Zeppelin's reuniting for a performance in London last year, fans have been bubbling over with talk of a tour.
The popular opinion of the band's performance at the O2 Arena is one of approval. Like the band's 1973 live release, The Song Remains the Same, the music was performed with subtle changes to the original studio recordings (not to mention a white haired Page, and a bearded Plant), giving fans something fresh, but not slacking on the classic intrigue enjoyed by fans for the past forty years.
The show was held to raise money for the Ahmet Ertegün Education Fund, which pays for university scholarships in the UK, US and Turkey. One of the most significant figures in the modern recording industry, Ertegün heard the band's demo in 1968, and quickly signed them to Atlantic Records.
Following the concert, rumors circulated about Zeppelin headlining the Bonnaroo music festival. The festival's promoter's announced today that Led Zeppelin is not scheduled to perform, however, "Lez Zeppelin", a four-part all-girl tribute quartet, will be headlining the event.
Although guitarist Jimmy Page and other band members have vowed their willingness to tour, vocalist Robert Plant has expressed that he is not yet ready to pledge his full commitment to the band.
In contrast to that, at a Knicks game on January 25th, Plant opened the door to more shows, quoted in an interview, "You never know what is around the corner. It's just nice to play with those guys," when asked about Zeppelin tour rumors.

Plant is currently involved in a string of live shows with Alison Krauss, an American bluegrass-country singer and fiddle player, in support of their Grammy-nominated joint album, Raising Sand.
"I really enjoyed playing with my friends, and we are a lot closer because of it. But the responsibility, the whole deal, it’s a whole different thing to what I’m doing with Alison."
Plant's tour with Krauss ends in September.
Youchoose.net launched a petition on 12-11-07 for fans who feel they didn't get a fair chance at seeing one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
The petition's organizers claim to be in contact with Led Zeppelin’s promoter, and state that they are "excited over the interest" the petition has generated thus far.
