Arrest Made in Sex Abuse Investigation at Day Care Facility

The suspect was arrested for first-degree Rape, first-degree Sodomy and first-degree Sex Abuse.

(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Detectives with the Beaverton Police Department arrested twenty-year old Vladysav "Lodick" Volynets-Vasylchenko of Tualatin Thursday in regard to a sex abuse investigation at a private daycare facility in Beaverton.

Sgt. Paul Wandell says the investigation was initiated on February 10th when the mother of an eight-year old female victim informed detectives her daughter had been sexually abused by Volynets-Vasylchenko.

The investigation indicated that the abuse had actually been going on over a three-year time period, Wandell said.

The daycare facility is located in a private residence in the 9800 block of SW Bonnie Brae Drive in Beaverton and maintains a permit to provide care for up to ten children.

Detectives made initial contact with the day care owner during the evening on February 10th.

Upon making contact at the residence, detectives learned the day care owner's son; twenty-two year old Sergey Petrovich Lyashenko was a registered sex-offender who was living at the home.

Wandell says Lyashenko was present when detectives arrived, and he was arrested on an unrelated charge of failing to report his address change as a sex offender.

Volynets-Vasylchenko was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of was arrested for first-degree Rape, first-degree Sodomy and first-degree Sex Abuse.

During the course of this investigation, detectives have been in contact the State of Oregon's Department of Human Services.
