Stolen property from at least eight burglaries was recovered with a value of over $10,000.
(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Police Detectives have arrested two suspects for burglarizing several homes under construction in south and southeast Salem since January and stealing appliances and fixtures that were either freshly installed or ready to be installed.
Salem Police Detective Treven Upkes was assigned to conduct follow up on these investigations and worked diligently to develop leads and suspects in the case. His investigation led him to the Hubbard home of 22-year-old Arturo Bautista-Contreras, and the Woodburn home of 22-year-old Jose Reyes-Mendoza.
Upon making contact with the suspects at their homes, numerous items of stolen property were located inside of both homes. Stolen property from at least eight burglaries was recovered with a value of over $10,000. The stolen property included housing fixtures, stainless steel ovens, stove tops, dishwashers and microwaves.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with eight counts of Burglary In The Second Degree and one count of Aggravated Theft In The First Degree.
