The searches provided no signs of there having been any vessel in distress in the area.
(SEATTLE) - Coast Guard rescue crews are responding to a report of a recreational vessel in distress in the vicinity of Winchester Bay, 20 miles north of Coos Bay, Oregon.
The Coast Guard Group at North Bend received the report at 2:00 AM from someone stating that they were aboard the recreational vessel Rubber Ducky and had run out of food and water. Later another call came in stating that the vessel was taking on water.
Coast Guard Group North Bend launched an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew and Station Umpqua River launched a response boat crew to assist the vessel.
The searches provided no signs of there having been any vessel in distress in the area.
