(SALEM) - Chemeketa TRIO student mentors are partnering with homeless Salem youth to raise funds for HOME Youth and Resource Center summer activities.
A fundraiser sale is scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd, from 9:00 AM -3:00 PM at the HOME Youth and Resource Center, 625 Union Street NE, Salem, OR.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit summer activities for the homeless and at-risk youth.
Donations of yard sale items including furniture, clothing, toys, household goods, bicycles, etc., are currently being accepted. They can be dropped off at the HOME Youth and Resource Center, or call Sheila Lang at (503) 779-5233 or Terra Stein (503) 949-1938 to make pick-up arrangements.
The Chemeketa TRIO Student Support Services program assists low-income and/or first generation college students interested in transferring to a four-year school after Chemeketa. They serve 200 students per year by providing a variety of services designed to help them succeed in their educational goals.
HOME Youth and Resource Center is a non-profit day shelter and drop-in center for non-adjudicated homeless and at-risk youth. They provide food, showers, laundry facilities, clothing, hygiene items, phone, individual assistance, educational programs, and support groups.
