It is important to note in stories such as this, that the person in question has not been convicted of any crime and as bad as the charges may sound, they are still only charges and the person is innocent until proven guilty.

News agencies like Salem-News.com relate information that is provided to us by the police and we often publish their requests for additional information from the public because in many cases, there are additional victims. In some cases, the charges are found to be baseless and the person charged is never convicted.

Detective Colleen Arient with the Stayton Police Department can be reached at 503 769-3421.
