(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Captain Tom Tennant and Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Bill Hakim died Friday, December 12th, when an explosive device detonated at a Woodburn area bank.
Today, Captain Tom Tennant was laid to rest after a special memorial ceremony attended by hundreds. The two officers, along with Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell and a bank employee, were involved in the explosion.
Russell suffered serious injuries and the bank employee suffered minor injuries.

Woodburn Police Department Captain Tom Tennant, who was 51 years old, was a 28-year veteran of Woodburn Police. He was hired on September 08, 1980 as a Woodburn Police Officer.
Tom Tennant was promoted to the rank of Captain on November 1st 2004. Captain Tennant served as the Administrative Captain, overseeing both the Investigation and Records Divisions.
Captain Tennant has served as a Police Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant. Captain Tennant is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Captain Tennant is survived by his wife and 2 daughters and a son ages 24, 22, and 17.
Senior Trooper Hakim's memorial service is still scheduled for Saturday, December 20th, at 11:00 AM at the Salem Armory on the Oregon State Fairgrounds.
The families of Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Bill Hakim, Woodburn Captain Tom Tennant and Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell greatly appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support they are receiving from friends and citizens.
