	        <description> Early this morning, Marion County Sheriffs were contacted by KPTV 12 television in Portland. They reported a female caller had notified them that a bomb would be going off at the Chemeketa Community College this morning.

Officials say that it appears at this time that the call was a hoax.

	        <description> A call came in to the Marion County Sheriff's office this morning, and said there was bomb at Chemeketa Community College, set to go off at 10:00 a.m. The threat was not specific to which location, so all Chemeketa campus' were closed, and students evacuated. 

An automated text system alerted all the students and staff not to report to Chemeketa or outreach centers until 11:00 a.m.</description>

	        <title> Two Officers Killed by Bomb at Bank in Oregon</title> 
	        <description> An Oregon State Police Bomb Technician and Woodburn Police Officer were killed, and the Woodburn Chief of Police was critically injured Friday afternoon when an explosive device detonated at a Woodburn area bank. 

On December 12, 2008 at approximately 10:32 AM a Woodburn-area Wells Fargo Bank received a threatening phone call from an unknown person. Bank personnel notified Woodburn Police Department and the bank was evacuated. 

With the assistance of the FBI and Senior Trooper Hakim, officers located a suspicious object that was determined to not be dangerous.

	        <title> Salem Police Bomb Squad Investigating Fake Explosive Device</title> 
	        <description> Salem's Police Bomb Squad was activated today over a report of a large explosive device that was found near a South Salem apartment complex.  What appeared to be an explosive device, as it turns out, was a fake bomb created to look like convincingly real, according to Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada.

The call came through at 9:00 AM from the apartment complex on Liberty Road S, where the suspicious device was observed on a garbage can.  Okada says the device, "was comprised of several tubes that resembled sticks of dynamite with an electronic detonator placed among the sticks and a timing device on top".

He says the initial responding officers immediately secured the area and contacted the Bomb Squad.

	        <description> The man who allegedly planted pipe bombs on four sport utility vehicles in the Salem-area that sent the community into panic back in August, is scheduled to appear in a Marion County Courtroom Tuesday morning.

44-year-old Lonnie Troy Glinski was arrested on Oct. 16th at his home in Sweet Home.

He is charged with seven counts of attempted aggravated murder and four counts of possession of a destructive device.

	        <title> Salem Bombs Were All Attached to Cars</title> 
	        <description> Salem Police are releasing more information on last week’s pipe bomb incidents in Salem and Dallas.  It now appears that all four bombs were attached to cars owned by south Salem residents.  

Two of the pipe bombs were found on the ground; one in the parking lot at Roth’s IGA on Lancaster Drive NE, and one at the intersection of Woodland Drive and Jon Mart in south Salem. 

One was discovered attached to a car in a Salem Hospital parking area, and the fourth bomb was found attached to a car at the TYCO Electronics factory in Dallas.</description>

	        <title> Salem Police Locate Third Suspected Bomb</title> 
	        <description> Salem area bomb teams have responded to a third report of a suspicious explosive device today.  Police Lt. Debbie Baker says the device was located by a passing motorist at Woodside Drive and Jon Mart in South Salem.

Baker says their police bomb team disrupted this one, which is a term used when officers try to breech the bomb.  "Sometimes they explode, sometimes it goes better."  

She says law enforcement in Salem is very concerned.  This is the third suspected bomb found in Salem today, and so far none of them appear to be fake.</description>

A state police bomb squad had taken up position at the Roth's IGA store on Lancaster Drive NE, assisting Marion County deputies over a report of a suspicious device that was located on the store property.</description>
