Not Just Fish Bait and Cockatoo Nibbles Anymore. Mikey Likes It!

“Tastes like sunflower, looks like sesame”, a clever little catch-phrase I picked up along the way which coins hempseed-as-a-food to a tee.

Be it hemp morning shakes, peanut chocolate energy balls made of hemp, almond goji powerballs, apple-power porridge (available right here in Victoria BC), finger licking brownies, hemp “cornchips”, veggie burgers or seeds in a salad dressing, there›s no doubt hemp is super-food. Not just hype; it is actually good for you. Hemp has been called the new soy and it’s ever more popular.

Veteran Suicides: Deployed for Destruction

I argued with myself about reading the heartbreaking story in The Oregonian headline August 28, 2011 Deployed Against Suicide which was a story about the suicide of Matthew Brennan, an Oregon National Guard Iraq War PTSD victim.

The Oregonian did a superb job of showing what destruction the American Army does to its young soldiers. His story is typical and should reflect badly on the “system” if they really have one.

Marijuana may be Studied for Combat Disorder (PTSD)

This is a headline pulled from the NYT July 19, 2011. It is not a coincidence that Patricia Kime from the Army Times newspaper interrogated me about this subject in the morning of July 20th for my opinion on this subject.

Oregon Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Receive 'Guidance' Letter from the Feds

The wariness of many Oregon medical marijuana patients was validated Friday, when local MMJ dispensaries received a direct warning from the Federal Government and Oregon's top lawmakers.

In some areas, there have been privately run medical dispensaries...doing business on borrowed time. Without the affirmation from voters last fall, it looks like "dispensaries" may not have a leg to stand on. Or do they?

Meet Your New Pot Dealer: Big Pharma

Despite the US government's staunch opposition to medical cannabis farms in Oakland and elsewhere, the feds have begun licensing a whole lot of large legal pot grows throughout the country.

But this weed is not for cannabis dispensaries and their patients; it's for Big Pharma. The Drug Enforcement Administration told Legalization Nation in an e-mail last week that 55 unnamed companies now hold licenses to grow cannabis in the United States.

ACLU Calls On Holder To Make Clear DOJ Will Not Prosecute People Complying With State Medical Marijuana Laws

In a letter sent late yesterday, the ACLU expresses deep concern about recent letters from several U.S. attorneys from across the country that threaten people who comply with state medical marijuana laws, including state employees and state licensed providers of medical marijuana, with federal prosecution.

"Patients, providers and legislatures need clear guidance from DOJ so they can proceed in confidence that state law will be respected."

Colorado Court Dismisses Charges Against Medical Marijuana Doctor

Dr. Toribio Robert Mestas had been randomly targeted for prosecution by the South Metro Drug Task Force because he gave recommendations for medical marijuana.

In his dismissal of the case, Judge Horton ruled that there was nothing improper about Dr. Mestas' recommendation of medical marijuana to an undercover police officer complaining of severe pain and that Colorado's Constitutional Amendment protected physicians by guaranteeing them an exception from the state's criminal laws for making medical marijuana recommendations.

Cannabis Gives Hope to Warriors with PTSD

No recruit ever considered that basic training would be easy, and in a time of war, they quickly discover that combat is a far cry from Hollywood’s portrayal. Reality is what it is. Dr. Phil Leveque knows this to be true. He served in the US Army and lived through World War II- and bears the scars within to this day.

“We were psychologically and physically stretched beyond normal limits and many recruits died. A bunch more were permanently psychologically damaged and the end result was PTSD even during training.”

Feds Finally Recognize The Anti-Cancer Potential Of Cannabis -36 Years Too Late!

Scientific trials have for decades documented the anti-cancer properties of cannabis and its constituents.

Yet, it took until this week for the website of the National Institute of Cancer, a component of the U.S. government’s National Institutes of Health, to finally acknowledged the herb’s therapeutic utility for patients living with disease or suffering from the adverse side-effects of cancer treatment.

In December we carried a report on a new film called "The Idiot Cycle" that delivers the goods on the world's top cancer causing culprits.

As this report shows, These same companies control the FDA and under the new "food safety" bill - S 510, they have just gotten the FDA to ban IV vitamin C as an unapproved drug.
