<title> Veterans Gather in Protest of 'Death by Remote Control'</title>
<description> Anti-war Veterans and other activists gathering for a special event Friday in Hood River, Oregon, say the new form of warfare in Afghanistan and Iraq involves death being delivered by remote control from thousands of miles away.

Gordon Sturrock, co-founder of VeteransAgainstTorture.com, believes this death-from-beyond concept removes all signs of humanity from the process. He says for the pro-war set, "it is a new form of justice, It's a trial by Hellfire missile, quick and cheap. No need for expensive time consuming trials. No risk at all to American lives."

<title> Hood River Company Recognized for Responsible Handling of Human Remains</title>
<description> Beam &amp; Couch Excavation Co. of Hood River has been honored by the Heritage Programs of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department for its handling of the discovery of human remains during an excavation project.

In November, while digging a trench, a company crew discovered human remains, immediately stopped work and contacted local authorities. A high probability that the remains were Native American was determined so the State Police and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) were notified. The two agencies worked with the appropriate Native American Tribes to treat the remains sensitively.

Both the SHPO and the participating Tribes are thankful for the prompt response and respectful treatment of the remains by Beam and Couch Excavation Co. Tara Gauthier, an archaeologist with the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, stated that the excavators, along with the property owner, "were all very helpful, and did their best to do the right thing. Because of their help we were able to quickly return the ancestral remains to the ground."

<title> Peaceful Defenders Louder Than Unwelcome Hate Group (VIDEO)</title>
<description> Hood River may not always be the quietest place in Oregon. It is a popular recreational area with plenty of boats on the water, and it is the place where Navy SEAL Marc Lee grew up. It’s also the place where Marc's Memorial was held Saturday, following his recent death in Iraq.

But a different kind of noise was in the air, it’s the last noise these people who came to say goodbye to a hero, wanted to hear.

A hate group from Kansas that disrupts military funerals drug American flags on the ground, carried anti-American and anti-gay signs, and did their best to harass people. None of the veteran’s whose funerals they picket were selected because they were gay.

	        <title> Salem-News.com Story Named in Top-50 on LiveDigital.com</title>
<description> A video news report by Tim King on hate protestors this weekend in Hood River, Oregon earned recognition on livedigital.com as a "Top-50 Most Viewed" video.

The story centers around the antics of a Kansas hate group from the Westboro Baptist Church that did their best to disrupt the funeral of an Oregon sailor over the past weekend.

Reporter Tim King produced the nine minute 26 second report and it was added to livedigital.com and Salem-News.com mid way through the day last Sunday.

"I was so happy to hear that our work is getting out there and competing well against the hundreds of thousands of other videos on livedigital. The ranking also speaks volumes about how Americans resent the actions of these whacky zealots who actually try to hassle the families."
