The southbound lanes of Highway 99E were restricted to one lane for about 3 hours during the investigation. According to OSP Trooper Ted Moisan, on September 27, 2010 at approximately 3:35 p.m. a 2004 Mazda van driven by Melanie Miekey, age 31, from Canby, was stopped for a red stop light southbound on Highway 99E just north of the Interstate 205 overpass. No one was injured, but upper floor residents had to be assisted down their back balcony by Clackamas firefighters because of the destruction done by the Jeep to their stairs outside their front door. The accident happened on State Route 213 near Milepost 6, about half a mile south of LeLand Road.
