	        <title> Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Crash - Highway 99E South of Woodburn</title> 
	        <description> Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday night's fatal pedestrian-involved traffic crash along Highway 99E just south of Woodburn.  The victim's name and residence information is being withheld while troopers try to locate and notify next of kin.

According to OSP Sergeant Corey Simons, on April 16, 2011 at approximately 8:27 p.m. a witness driving southbound on Highway 99E near milepost 33 braked to avoid a pedestrian in a dark, unlit area who ran across the highway toward the west side shoulder.  A 2005 Dodge Neon driven by Robert Moore, age 56, from Woodburn, was following behind the witness and swerved toward the highway shoulder to avoid a rear-end collision and struck the pedestrian.</description>

	        <title> High Speed Race of over 120 MPH North of Woodburn Leads to Two Arrest</title> 
	        <description> Two men involved in speed racing on Interstate 5 north of Woodburn Sunday morning both ended up back at a Salem-area jail after they were stopped and arrested following speeds that reach in excess of 120 mph.

On October 3, 2010 at approximately 10:45 a.m. Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Andrew Goffrier was patrolling northbound on Interstate 5 near Woodburn in an unmarked OSP ADEP (Aggressive Driving Enforcement Program) patrol car. As Goffrier was driving in the right northbound lane near milepost 273 he saw a red 1994 BMW 325i car coming up from behind at a high rate of speed. The BMW, followed by a silver 2004 Dodge Neon, slowed down briefly as both vehicles passed the unmarked OSP car and then took off at speeds nearing 100 mph.</description>

Today, Captain Tom Tennant was laid to rest after a special memorial ceremony attended by hundreds.  The two officers, along with Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell and a bank employee, were involved in the explosion.  Chief Russell suffered serious injuries and the bank employee suffered minor injuries.

The memorial service for Capt. Tennant was extensive and somber. People came out in icy cold weather to pay their respects for this officer who fell in the line of duty.
