11-Year Old Boy Arrested for Arson in Keizer

Police believe an 11-year old boy is responsible for starting a series of fires in Keizer.
(KEIZER, Ore.) -
Keizer Police and the Keizer Fire District responded to 5130 7th Avenue Northeast last night over a string of fires at the residence within a period of a month.
Keizer Police Sgt. John Troncoso says the 11-year old male juvenile who resides at the residence was arrested for three counts of first-degree Arson and lodged in the Mid Valley Juvenile Detention Facility.

Reward Offered for Arrest of Salem Area Arson Suspect

The Oregon Council Against Arson is offering a reward of up $5,000 for information regarding the suspect or suspects in this case.

May 3rd through 9th is "National Arson Awareness Week" and the Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to take the opportunity to request the public's help with an unsolved arson case.
Lt. Sheila Lorance says on December 6th 2008, the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a residential burglary and fire in the 4000 block of 46th Ave NE.

(SALEM, Ore.) -
Three West Salem juveniles face charges in connection with an arson fire Sunday that resulted in no injuries, but did lead to the loss of a turn of the century area home.
Sgt. Mark Garton with the Polk County Sheriff's Office says his agency, along with Salem's Police and the Salem Fire department, responded to the house fire Sunday afternoon, at 3266 Orchard Heights Road NW in Salem.

Albany Police Make Arrest in Arson Investigation

The man was arrested two separate times over nine local arson fires.
(ALBANY, Ore.) -
Albany Police arrested 74-year-old Donald George Rice, an Albany area transient, in connection with a number of recent fires Tuesday at approximately 9:20 a.m.
Captain Eric Carter with Albany Police says police officers and fire investigators are conducting an investigation into a series of fires that have been set in Albany since the beginning of 2009.
"At this time Donald Rice has been identified as having set 9 fires outside of Albany area businesses since the beginning of 2009," Carter said.

Man Arrested After Explosion Rocks Aloha Apartment Complex (PHOTOS)

Eleven people including seven children were displaced because of the fire. Red Cross Disaster Services responded to the scene to assist the families with shelter.
(ALOHA, Ore.) -
Deputies in Washington County say a man was arrested last night after a series of explosions occurred in an Aloha apartment complex.
Dave Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says deputies were called to conduct a welfare check on a man who had been involved in a domestic fight.
"While deputies were outside the apartment a series of explosions occurred followed by a fire inside the apartment. The suspect was taken into custody and no one was injured," Thompson said.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office would like to ask if anyone has information regarding this case.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
Marion County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a residential burglary and fire that happened Saturday in the 4000 block of 46th Ave NE.
Sheriff's Detective Mathieu LaCrosse, who is also a fire investigator, worked with Fire Marshalls from Marion County Fire District and determined the fire was intentionally set and is being investigated as an arson.
"It appears the suspect forced entry into the residence and stole jewelry and other undisclosed items. They then poured a flammable liquid throughout the house and lit it on fire," Lacrosse indicated.

Salem Fire Department received a call for a commercial fire at 998 Hawthorne Ave NE, Salem-Keizer School District Bus Garage at 5:56 AM on Sunday, December 17th.
Captain Robin Chitwood stated, "When we arrived we had multiple busses on fire. We made aggressive attacks on both ends of the line of buses."
A second alarm was dispatched at 6:00 AM bringing more fire apparatus and fire fighters to the scene.

That is when someone set fire to a flag with Khanda, the symbol of the Sikh faith on it, outside of the Dashmesh Darbar Sikh Temple on Oakhill Ave SE in South Salem.

Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Homicide/Assault Response Team are still on the scene of an apparent arson fire that happened around 7:30 PM Wednesday at the People's Church in Salem.
The suspect who was quicly taken into custody has been identified as 53-year old Kam Shing Chan, aka Daniel Chan. He has been charged in relation to last night's apparently intentional church congregation fire.

Man Starts Fire in Salem Oregon Church Amid Congregation of Several Hundred

Investigators are on scene trying to determine exactly what happened.
(SALEM) -
A man is in custody tonight for starting a fire inside the People’s Church on Lancaster Drive in Salem, while several hundred people were inside the building.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Kevin Rau says the incident started around 7:30 PM. The suspect is accused of hijacking a local yellow cab and placing a knife to the throat of the taxi driver.
